Blackberry extract is a rich source of anthocyanins.  Anthocyanins provides the pigment in flowers and leaves .  Anthocyanins are a powerful anti oxidant  which may offer support for heart health as well as act as an anti –inflammatory.  It is also known for its assistance in eye health, during World War II to improve British pilots' night vision the pilots were given herbs with anthocyanins as the active ingredient.
